Hi guys, If anyone has the stock GS bin files (maps) for the gearbox and the engine that they don't mind sending me, please pm me as it would be a great help

There are, but it's business for them. I can suggest you want the 4200 map to start with though for that engine, don't worry about trying a GS map - wasting your time.

I'm glad you started a new thread for this and I didn't respond to a lot of it in the other thread because I was hoping we'd keep that for the Kevlar clutch. Sometimes threads get like a runaway diesel.

That being stated. I modified my Spyder, and had the ECU flashed out of Houston, TX by Eurocharged. I have to be honest, and it's totally your decision, it really didn't make that much of a real world difference. My main objective in the flash was really flashing out the secondary O2's so that the CEL wouldn't come on after I gutted the Primary Cats. But since I did send it to them, I figured I would get it done. It was slightly more responsive but not enough I think for me to solely do it for that purpose. I modified the exhaust all the way back as well.

I did send them my NCR (TCU) as well. They specialize in all the exotics. When it came to the gear box TCU they basically sent it back and said there wasn't a whole lot they could do with it.

Additionally, I think Drew is correct. For the people who do flash the ECU's, it's money for them. I do to much already to get specifically into flashing.

If you are really wanting to go all out on your car. I have another forum member trying to convince me to do rear mount turbos on my car. He wanted me to do it with the Spyder but I don't like the unibody set up. It would need to be re-enforced, and besides I sold it a few weeks ago. Both of my cars have under 30K on them as well.
However, if you have 90K on yours and don't care. You now have a Kevlar clutch. I think with the piping run under the car you wouldn't need an intercooler.

Besides working on Mas. I also work on turbo diesels. I rebuild turbos for them, injectors, etc. etc. I seem to like everything no one wants to play with. I probably wouldn't have time to do turbos on the Mas. (GranSport) anyway. But it's something you could consider if you are looking to really play with the car. The only week spot I know in that car would of been the clutch. I think the gear box could handle it, and the motor has a strong lower end.

Rear mount turbo's...I read about it being done on a few small hatchbacks.
They could be mounted instead of the rear exhaust boxes, then piped together to feed into the single air intake.
The boost would have to be fairly small, possibly with water injection, to keep the compression ratio the same.
The big question would be, would it be laggy with such a long run between turbo and intake manifold?

What I read about those turbos is that exhaust gas gets there too cold and turbos don't spool much and the lag is too high

Here's a rear mount turbo running light amount of boost in a Camaro, this was my idea for our cars. Our cars are somewhat similar in length, definitely better already for HP/TQ.

Laggy? No offense turbos have lag regardless of how they are mounted. But, check this video as an example of a rear mount. Additionally, tons of people have run them. I personally would remove the rear tire well, use an aluminum plate there and mount the turbo to that plate, and use or keep the heat shield around the F1 solenoids.

I use bullet aluminum compressor wheels like this when I am rebuilding turbos for the diesels. It gives it a bit better spool:

Not that aesthetics is that important under the back of the car but this is what the compressor housings look like when I'm done polishing them:

After:

If I did know what turbo someone wanted to build I would offer to build it for them if they bought the parts.....

Anyway here's the video:

STS kits do seem to be popular.
Having had a google about them, and all the rear twin turbo conversions on V8's, it certainly would be an interesting project for sure!

I didn't check to see what type of turbos STS uses. I was showing it more as an example of a car with rear mounted turbos. As long as they use a quality turbo(s) I'm not against kits.

Hhhmmmm very interesting. What sort of power potential do you think I'd available? Plus what psi do you think these engines can take? X

Craig, were they not able to upgrade the TCU to the latest 2006CC/Gransport version? the version MCC49H21 is applicable to both.

I'm currently trying to find a way to upgrade my 04CC to that version, so that I can have the 35% faster shifts and rev matching downshifts.

reading about turbos.. For the people in the US, Jeff from FD looks for a 4200 to get his turbo project developed. Contact him if you wish.

Well, looking at Ferrari 430 supercharged conversions, which of course is the same family of engine as ours, 5psi appears to be the norm without altering the compression ratio.
That should give you an easy 500Bhp easily.

My last car was a supercharged e46 m3... Running methanol injection, 11psi, from stock 345 to 520bhp.
IMO that was a substantial bhp increase to warrant the convention.

They might not of had the software at the time but if it's like my GS now I don't think I would of wanted it. It seems that not only does it blip downshifting, when I upshift driving normally it blips as well. It drives me absolutely nuts. I don't know why but it does. As to the 35% increase when I hammered the Spyder and shifted it was lightning quick and hard but remember it was the 02' as well.

Safe increase in boost I think you could run 5psi-7psi. I know they were kicking around the idea of the supercharger on these cars in the U.S. and ECS of Virginia even posted to follow how much interest there was. Wasn't much at $30,000 but they felt safe the bottom end could handle it.

I would talk to Jeff at FD but honestly if I do it I would want to do it on my own. Takes the fun out of it to have someone else do it for you, at least for me. Right now I have about three Mas. customers in my near future and diesels pop up with issues everyday. Don't see me get enough time to do a custom turbo install anytime soon, and again not on my low mileage GS. If I want to sell it people will just assume without checking you beat the **** out of the car, and it's messed up.

Upshift blips...that does not sound right?
Yes when hammering it, my 02 shifts quick and ******* the original software.

Indeed. I was playing passenger in Zep's GS this morning, and while his PIS has not been breathed on by the Voicey magic, the shift difference is as night and day. I'll happily stick with mine, and love the downshift. :D
