Hey guys, can you please advise me on this.
I am replacing the old pioneer head unit that came with my GS for a new system. However I need to remove the centre console as shown in the picture below. Anyone know how to remove this bit?

Not a GS owner, but do you have to remove the steering wheel first?

Take a look behind the leather trim of the console. There must be some screws there.

But again, this is only a thought.

ok, i'll try that then. I'm trying to find where all the cables disappear to in between the foot well and the radio surround (there's about 6 in foot well and 1 by the time it gets to the dash)
How do you remove the carbon part of the console?

Two screws and pop two clips out at too of carbon console if it is anything like 3200.

You don't need to remove the dash to change a head unit. If you're using the standard cables and connections everything is accessible through the DIN slot once the head unit is out, but it's also very helpful to remove the switch panel beneath as there little room for cables and it's a very snug fit. If you're running RCAs to an amp/s or your own speaker cable there is still enough room for everything. I recently removed an old Pioneer head unit that had a couple of add-on boxes for Bluetooth, iPod etc - there is enough room for all of this, but again, it's very tight for room behind the dash.

If only it was that easy!
I removed a pioneer head unit, but it had two modules hidden in the footwell, another behind the glove box and cables running between all the units in a spaghetti layout.
Still no sign of the two standard connectors, just the maserati c connection
Hence why I'm trying to find what's from the original harness and what's been tinkered with

Sounds similar to the one I removed (Pioneer AVIC?). It's possible the OEM connectors have been pushed down below the head unit slot - remove the switch panel and you should be able to access everything. Be very careful pulling at any cables as a lot of wiring runs through that area.

Yeah it was the avic! Found the connectors, they where wedged up in the side of the console (bit I was initially trying to remove). Whoever installed this unit made a hash of it that's for sure.
Can anyone tell me if these two connectors are off the original harness/becker unit?
