Hello, im new so please forgive me but thought its probably a good place to post my car and get some advice.
I have an Anniversary Blue with Black leather 2006 GS, i have had the car since 2008 from Meridien and have spent a lot of money keeping it highly maintained!
Even the garage i have the car in is heated!

I have been looking at the new Jaguar F type and i got a part ex price that i feel is low, so im going to try and sell the car myself and if i cant then ill go back to them with my tail between my legs.

Full history, never missed anything
Full MOT and tax for new owner
Wheels all refurbed and tyres have only done 400 miles!!

Im not good with technology (showing my age) so if i can persuade my 14 year old boy to do it tomorrow i will do.

Pistonheads and Autotrader adverts will go "live" in a day or so but thought id ask on here for thoughts on price etc, anything i can do to improve and maximise my car?

Any advice or pointers will be appreciated and maybe even a pint being bought the next time we meet.
Im based in a Pontefract if anyone wants to meet up for a pie and pint.

Regards
Steven Fletcher

Welcome Steve. I'm sure there will be a few people along shortly to advise on the value of your car. Possibly even a potential buyer....

Recent clutch, discs, pads, big service? £33k with wriggle room.

Make sure the pics are good.

GS prices are going back up.

Hi Steve,
Welcome to the forum. There are two anniversary blue GS's in West yorks that I knew of, now 3.
Realistically for a 2006 GS LE with 37k miles in tip top condition with good service history, private sale, I would say about £25k to £26k. You could hold out for a bit more and might get it, but there are decent cars with lower mileage for only slightly more than that around at the moment..!! Just out of interest, what did the dealer offer you? I was thinking about popping in to see the "F" Type and the px would be good for a laugh..!!
We are having a Northern meet on the 1st February, Noon, 3 Acres Inn, Emley Moor, a few of us will be there, see the thread on here..!!
Cheers

Welcome Steve, sounds like a lovely car. Must admit I got a bit excited when one of the members text me about your car but alas its black interior which is not for me.

It's no secret I have been looking for ages and your car does sound very nice.

The GS market is all over the place at the mo and Robs valuation above is on the money I would say. You could stick it up for late £20k's even early £30's but I assume you need to sell reasonably quicky as you now want the Jag.

Take some nice pics as this is what really gets the punters through the door.

That colour is lovely, forgot you dont want black leather Matt otherwise this is the car

What did Jaguar offer you? Must have a figure in mind for a quick sale?

I'd guess mid 20's for a private sale? Autoficciana would put it up for £30k+ and maybe even get it but private sales never seem to achieve that premium

Im impressed with the replies! Have also posted on another forum and its not like this

So many questions so here i go

The clutch was replaced along with the brakes 8 months ago
The Jaguar dealer offered me 22k, i had an offer of 23k from one of their sales men for his own private buy
Ill be honest, i thought it was worth atleast 26k trade and 30k to the end user. Thus allowing 4k in profit for the trader.
If i dont get that after 1 week of adverts ill give it to the sales man for 23k and hopefully he sorts me out something on the Jaguar.

Yes im all for meeting if work lets me, ill get back to you
It would be good to keep it with an enthusiast otherwise ill sell out to trade.

Thank you all for your warm welcoming

Matt, you could get the interior re-trimmed in MCV style alcantara of any colour you like?

Steve,
Who did the maintenance for you, Maserati Dealer, Independent Maserati Specialist, or other garage..??
Sounds like Clutch, Brakes & Tyres are relatively new then, which will save a buyer having that initial expense, that's good..!! It would be nice for your car to go to an enthusiast and a member on here, but we understand you just want to sell it for as much as you can..!! £22k/£23k is far too low a price for the car, unless you are desperate to sell..!!
I hope you can make it to the meet, it's on a Saturday lunchtime and you would be very welcome..!!
Cheers

Matt, might be one to consider, you could maybe sell the seats and put in what you like, then retrim the rest..!!

You want a modern Jag so much you'll happily lose £7k from your Maserati for the sake of a week or two?

Hope another car doesn't come out that you like a month or so after you buy the Jag, if it does, let me know I'll get another bargain ;)

Personally, I'd wait for 3-4 months to buy the Jag as their prices are falling like a lift with its cable cut. A mate of mine bought a V8 F type and while he was looking, he came across one darn sarf. It was 5 months old, 5k miles and was, at the time, going for £74k. Bearing in mind it was specced at £92k it was a bit of a fall. A month later it was up for £71. Looking on Pistonheads today there is another, this one is 7 months old, 4.4k miles, good spec, going for £67850.

It's a shame but they are just overpriced.

When an F type comes past and you hear a whistling sound, it's not the supercharger, it's the depreciation.
