These are cheap depreciating cars so just pay up and get on with life or buy an Audi SQ5 or whatever it's called.

To make matters worse they called me today to tell me that I will have to pay an extra £969. As from 1st Feb Porsche are increasing the base list price of the car and so any orders included in the system will be caught. In reality the price rise only impacts people who have opted to delete the 3rd year warranty and assistance as this will now be included in the basic price. It seems that many people (including me) where deleting these options and no doubt it is a profitable little add-on for Porsche so they are now insisting on it.

I would go mad with the dealership if they did that to me. It's not your fault that you have to wait so long for the car and that the new price base kicks in. They should be compensating you for the delay.

Dealer called and I am getting 3rd warranty for free - no price rise. Bit of a result but I had to push for it.

Well done. I'm pleased they did the right thing, it's just a shame that you had to fight for that. For all they spend on marketing and brand positioning, a little thing like this could easily persuade one of us not to buy a Porsche. They've then lost far more than they gained.

I drove a Macan recently, it was very nice. A good choice for sure. We chose a Volvo XC60 which was a personal thing as they're more suited to family life. The Macan also was considerably more once optioned up to a decent level. They're still masters at making you need to spend 10k on top of list to get more spec than a Fiesta!

They seem to get it both ways.
From friends who have bought new and secondhand they appear to pay over the top at purchase, and poor trade in when they wish to change.
Wait a minute, that sounds like all main car dealers!

Base price was £43k I think ended up spending £60k, most people are between £53k-60k. Everything is extra on them as you say.
Luckily the finance is very cheap on them due to exceptional depreciation. They have been out for 9 months but there are only about 1200 cars in the country and 1500-2000 being delivered each year (stock going to China and USA!).

I will see how i get on with it, but tempted to flip it after 6 months and buy something cheaper which can carry kids and dog without me stressing about it!

yes its very high but if you look at the 3 year costs and its still a cheap car due to the very high residuals

I put quite a few options on my 4c and they cost me 5k. And half that was the Rosso paint.

17k's worth of options is mind-boggling!
