There are, it was and it is.

GA is a nice colour.

I see red too on the wheels. Exhaust looks interesting.

They are starting to look more tempting, as the OP say there are plenty under £40k and plenty just over.

Not sure if this one is listed in the links above - but been up a while. Lovely colour.

How long before we start seeing early cars at £25k - £30k? I think someone has said trade a few are coming in around £33k-£34k.

It is a GTS exhaust, I know the car. Autoshield looked after it, it's been discussed on here before.

I like that car but would have ordered the steering wheel and carpets in black.

Views on price all depend on what you are talking about in the trade to retail price spectrum as it is quite wide. All previous Maseratis' show that trade prices can get down to under £10k and competitor cars to the GT like the 6 series demonstrate that. However, Astons' tend not to go that low before settling down so it is hard to call at the moment.

There was a car just like that for sale in Glasgow in mid 2010. Trouble was that the GTS exhaust was not valved so was always open.

Retail between £25k - £30k?

Maybe in the next 12 months? when I started looking at GS the GT were well above £43k, and now decent examples are £36k or £37k

My problem is I have a budget of upto £30k, which gets me in a GS, QP or a 4200 with cash to burn. The GT has always been my favorite of the modern Maserati's, in terms of looks and style, and never thought they would fall close to my price bracket so soon.

I appreciate GS, QP, GT and 4200 are all different in there own way, at the moment I'm leaning more to QP with the ZF as I do a lot of town driving, but if the GT falls some more over the next 6 - 8 months, I should wait and get the car I really want.

Cars are like computers in that waiting is always the best thing to do but none of us like waiting!

It's a hard one to call. If a near five year old car is £36/37k retail then to my mind it will be over 12 months before it is down to £30k retail as a car of that age and value will be depreciating no more than £5k pa like for like.

With a two new QPs and the 4x4 to come in the next 12-18 months values could take a step change either way - up if it re-ignites the brand or down if the new models make the current models look very old. At the moment a 2007 ZF auto QP looks like a good buy to me.

I'm sure it's been covered on here before fellas but there's a huge, enormous, vacumous gap between a GT4.2 and the GTS4.7. They are completely different beasts.....even down to the fact that the straight ahead steering in the 4.2 has a dead spot.... the 4.7 doesn't.

If you fancy a GT, hold out, be patient and get the full vindaloo 4.7...not Korma....would be my advice.

Cheers Wattie

Due to age and market reasons, there is still a £15-20k price difference between the two. A £35k GT has a much bigger target group than a £50-55k GTS. Thought you might know that!

Agreed, some lovely ones just starting to tip into my price range.

I'm vey impatient when it comes to cars and I'm surprised I have lasted this long without pulling the trigger.

Best get some test drives booked and see what the GT is like and then make the call to either wait or not..

As for the 4.2 - 4.7 I'm sure there is a world of difference, but as a poorly paid accountant.. I would be waiting a long time for the GTS.. the best car I have owned wasn't because it was the fastest or the best of its breed, my Alfa GT V6 had some big faults but was still special, so I'm sure I would be very happy with the 4.2 GT.

Just need to sell a house!

Our house that we rent is up for sale at the moment - once that has been sold I'm using some of the money to get myself a Maser.

Because the house is at the lower end of the market £120k, the price is aimed at the first time buyers, and we have had plenty of people like the house, 2nd viewings etc and then when they apply for a mortgage most are being knocked back for silly things that happened 8 months ago. One girl phoned in tears to apologise that Nationwide had turned her down because she missed 1 credit card payment. This is the 4th such story I have heard.

So I may have to wait 18 months to sell and buy a car!

Such a paranoid approach to risk won't help kick-start our economy. Or your car-buying plans. Interesting - but not inspiring - to see the consequences rippling through the market: she misses one payment, someone else doesn't sell a car. Crazy.

....it is, but the bankers still get bonuses for not lending money. Capitalism gone crazy.

It is crazy - the Government have the New Buy scheme which helps people buy a new build house with only a 5% deposit.. But they do nothing or very little to help existing homeowners shift older houses.

Me and the wife looked at some new builds a few weeks ago, and the builder (well known) was offering 5% value of the house as a rebate and paying stamp duty. All in they were prepared to give us £25k in incentives. Can’t compete with that!

However someone looking to buy our house, would need a minimum of 10% for deposit, solicitor fees, and some incidentals. You are looking at £15k for a first time buyer. It’s a lot of money. A few years ago parents were prepared to lend money to their offspring, but they are now being impacted by the low interest rates on savings and also the fear of losing their job.

Another girl couldn’t proceed because her Dad (who was a guarantor for her) had to cut his hours down at work, so again she was rejected a mortgage. Even though she could comfortably pay the monthly mortgage payments

Could take some time for whole market to gain confidence again.
