Still one of the best shapes on the road...Perfect proportions and what an engine....Had a ride in one once and it blew my me away......Love it, love it, love it.

If you really must have an Aston I guess that's the one to have . I don't know much about them but it looks good, though I confess a tang of disappointment that the title seduced me into the thread expecting to see one of Ferrari's finest adorning your drive. Regardless, congratulations and enjoy! I hope V12 ownership is more of a success than your last disappointment. Also interested to know what you think of the Aston compared to the Fezza.

The Aston I would have thought would be more fun..Smaller than a 599 so more chuckable and that V12 does make things interesting in a small car....The 599 is more GT I would have thought.

YOu are probably right..First time I saw one I couldn't' get over how big it was......The Aston just looks like it is begging to be driven.........

Nice, of you are going to be seduced by a non Italian mistress an Aston is probably the way to go. The V12 makes some lovely noises, not Italian noises but nice in a different way.

Comments are spot-on. The 599 is very large whereas the Vantage is much closer to Gransport in size and feels much more usable on the road. Also true about the engine sound/feel ... the 599 sounded angry, revs higher. The Vantage is somehow more refined and "sweeter" (if that makes sense?)

The 599 does have a remarkable trick suspension (magnetorheological) which can cleverly disguise bumpy side roads when at low speeds.
But so far, despite the entirely different history, the Aston feels to me more like the natural successor to the Gransport - the Ferrari was just too extreme in many ways to use as a road car.

If you want to see more of the Vantage the sales video is still up on youtube. Mercury Silver with Obsidian Black leather:

It certainly is, took it out with the Supercar lot and they couldn't keep up on the twisty bits from lake vyrney to festiniog. It's a lot of fun for a car that cost me £5000.
