Dear Fellow Maseratisti, Pictured below is a GranSport fitted with an armrest. It appears to have a leather upholstered top and a carbon fibre body. I have never seen an armrest fitted to a GranSport. Can anyone enlighten us on this armrest? Cheers, Ron

I read about this a couple of years ago before I bought my car. It was custom made as was the infill between the console and dash. I'll try and find a link...

I would have it done. My biggest issue with the GS is when you corner, you slip inwards and there is no place to rest your arm.

I looked into it a while ago and basically a 159 armrest can be adapted by making a carbon fibre lower section the fits into rear tray.

If I can get enough interest I would consider producing it.

Mike also had a 3200 with one in but it was attached to the seat, like a 156. He told me it was factory on a press car.

Now I'm starting to understand this car. This 2006 GranSport (Blu Sebring) was first serviced by HR Owen Sports Cars, London on 27/07/2007 at 7003 miles and again on 04/10/08 at 17,097 miles. Giallo, Kent serviced it on 06/09/2010 at 20,447 miles and again on 12/11/2012 at 25,582 miles. It's last service to date was completed by Maserati Sydney, Australia on 07/03/2014 at 45,184 kilometres.

This is where it gets interesting. This is what has done my head in a little. I've drooled over many photos of this car. I concluded that the car is fitted with everything contained in the LE option pack. However nowhere to been seen are the small oval shaped black and silver 'Auditorium 200' badge above the door speaker. I then thought who in their right mind would option a GranSport with everything that the makes up the LE option pack, but omit the Auditorium 200. Safrane has unknowingly and kindly sorted this concern out for me. Unfortunately I didn't pick the doors having modified door speaker pods. Now I know what's happened to the bloody Auditorium 200 badges !!!

I am adamant this car's modified door speaker pods have been previously discussed on this site.

The car was sold to its current owner sometime in June 2014 with the odometre showing 44,2XX kilometres. So it is apparent a little over 2 years and 2,000 kilometres are unaccounted for. The odometre now shows 57,355 kilometres. I'm also certain it was imported from the United Kingdom with the dreadful aerial fitted to the passenger side rear quarter panel. :(

I have emailed Alistair at ADG and Mathew as Giallo to see if they have any further details.

Mathew at Giallo has replied, he knows nothing about it. We will have to wait to see what Alistair has to say.

This particular GranSport came to us via a chap in Jersey. The centre arm rest and speaker pods were one off bespoke accessories, hope that helps clarify?!, Alistair

G'day Alistair, Just to clarify things. ADG Sevenoaks did sell this GranSport? Was it sold to an Australian buyer? Thank you. Cheers mate, Ron

Furthermore the car's current owner and I cannot establish a timeline of its ownership when the car was based in the United Kingdom.

Sorry, my mistake, I meant the armrest off a GT or 147, then mount in the rear tray cutout, it would be nice to have it carbon fibre:

Then attach here, it may fit without modification via a plate and some studs underneath, this way you can remove it, replace the rubber mat and nobody will ever know:
