Grancabrio stereo configuration

Hello, after some advice. Currently working my way through the system on my 2010 GC. I’ve replaced the speakers in all four corners with some very nice Focal components, including a load of Dynamat, so Im happy with how these are installed now. There is an existing JL audio amp in the boot powering them. The phono line in comes runs to the front, where I imagine there is some sort of signal converter taking the output from the head unit to this lead.
So, in theory I should have a nice clean four channel set up, and when installing each corner I ran them up to volume and all seemed fine. However with the full system running I get an invasive, woolly bass coming dominating. Im guessing there is a rogue speaker/sub still running off the head unit. Before I start pulling things apart I reckon it could be:
Centre speaker (wouldn’t imagine this would be too bass heavy, and causing this issue)
Front sub in the footwell (pretty sure theres none in the rear of the):

Any thoughts, and does anybody have experience of getting at one of these front subs?

Plan is when I have all four channels working as they should install a signal processor between the head unit and amp to clean up the signal and fine tune, however need to get the above straight first.

For reference in case anyone else is looking at this, the panel in the footwell comes out very easily by way of four bolts. Simply lift up the carpet and sound deadening to get to.

I didn’t know the GC came with a stereo.
I thought the reason it was a convertible was to hear the exhaust better.

Every day is a school day.
