Hi All,
Hoping somebody on here can help as I've had this ongoing issue for since September 2018.
Not sure if there is any relevance (probably coincidence) but the problem began after I took the car to get a ceramic coating on the paintwork. I started it up and within 5 minutes of running the cooling fan came on, very loudly!
Since then, within 5 to 10 minutes of driving, as soon as it hits 90 degrees, the fan comes on and pretty much stays on for the duration of the journey. It is always the high speed fan, and people have mentioned it sounds like a hovercraft approaching!! It is very loud and embarrassing as it draws attention for all the wrong reasons!
I have taken it to 4 separate local garages (including a Jag dealer that deals with Maseratis) and they have all told me that the fan is coming on when it should and that both fans are working. They say that it is doing it's job and keeping the engine cool.
I drove this car from January to September last year, right through the hot summer, and never had this issue! The mechanics try to fob me off with "perhaps your music was on so loud that you couldn't hear it" etc...
It has recently been serviced and had new filters etc..
Does anybody have an idea why the fan would be so loud and stay on after around 5 minutes?
The garages have run diagnostic tests and said everything is working properly and that no faults are showing.
I've looked on other forums for possible fixes. Some have spoken about broken relays etc but the garages have told me that there isn't a fault..
The nearest Maserati garage is nearly 2 hours drive away so that is really a last resort. I'm hoping to find a solution on here if possible?
