Trust me girls come home late at night with takeout on the back seat, we forget stuff too especially once we start hitting the late stage of our 40s and early 50s... Not sure why I would need to introduce myself to the group just to warn everybody that a girl entered the chat room..
Welcome to you and to the remains of whatever fish supper got wedged under your seat. If you're conspicuous here it's not because of your gender but because the greedy sods on this forum wouldn't dream of forgetting to eat anything and everything.

We're mostly well-behaved, by the way. Except Harry-not-Harry. She's a menace!

disagree bro, i have noticed this has became a bit of "an old boys" club recently and think the way we have replied to this post has not disproved this...........
I said mostly. In any case, I can well understand Jacqueline's surprise and disappointment at the responses that a perfectly sensible, informative post elicited, so on behalf of the forum I'd like to apologise and hope that she will stick around, continue to contribute and - perhaps - 'appreciate' the sense of humour and ribaldry that tends to cut through much of what's discussed here.

Gender aside, it's high time we had someone else in the US. Poor Dennis could do with someone else in a similar timezone (albeit still a few hours adrift).

Speaking as one of the women on this forum, I do anything to encourage other ladies to stay on here! Some women have bigger testicles than others. Hence my first comment on this post.

Likewise some men. My one is huge. It's having to also do the job of its brave brother, fallen in battle.

back on topic, one of the things i need to fix before selling is that since i got it back from the garage after the subframe being fixed is the front seat..........i just cant get it right and i know i have not grown! i had tried most of the advice J referred to and no joy. after reading her OP, i tried a gentle reminder to the motor but not as lucky as her it seems so the search goes on. ;)

Try getting a fish stuck down there for a while first. These are temperamental cars at times, and maybe you need to make a piscine offering to the spirit that doth possess your car. And lo, the god of your GTS shall be pleased, the demonic seat motor gremlin shall be smited and it shall move again!

And welcome to the forum Jaqueline R, the only thing you need here is a sense of humour, a Maserati is not a pre-requisite. Please stick around with your perspective of ownership

As for your story, an electric motor built in the 50's still follows the same laws of physics as one built in the 2020's, granted you'd expect a newer one to be more reliable but if it can't overcome the friction or hurdle then it won't move. The other reason for not giving a starter motor a whack with a lump hammer is because engines are so tightly packaged you haven't got the room to swing one.

What about a lumpfish; any more room to swing one of them?
