Not sure about that, has tow hitch in, I wonder if it has a Hydrolocked Engine, only says mechanical damage and can't see anything that jumps out. Would need an examination, or Indie inspection to be sure.

In the third pic it looks as though there is smoke/vapour coming from the exhaust which would suggest it starts. i guess some more info would be needed on the exstent of the mechanical damage as if it needs a new engine it will have to be very cheap to make sense

It was the exhaust I saw, plus the "runs and drives" logo, but that's no guarantee of how well it runs!

On such a leggy car an exchange engine or box would be justifiable, maybe upgrade to a 4.7 while you're at it.

Do you think a 4.7 could be sourced and put in for around £10k? if so if this was to go for low teens it would be good value

It certainly could - a conversion was done recently, not too far from you in Burntwood on a QP.

Curious to have a Cat-D on mechanical??? Copart are very good at listing water damage and that has not been the case here so what mechanical damage would get passed to insurance? Assuming it has to be greater than the recoverable value it is odd. The dash is not lit up with warnings, says it runs and drives; curiouser and curiouser....

It certainly could - a conversion was done recently, not too far from you in Burntwood on a QP.

I was talking to Gary at GT Auto's about that conversion I just didn't ask what the cost was. It's interesting to see the state of the hydro locked engine it replaced

You need the gearbox too I would say but I bet that's trick to convers to an MC shift plus the rear exhaust and vaccume system, is it worth it?

I have notified Loz I am sure he will be all over it.

Just keep it as an Auto, no need to convert to the robotised manual.

You could potentially even get the MC Shift software retrofitted for even faster shifts from the Auto.
