Goodbye BMW, Hello BMW

Well after best part of 4 or 5 years I have decided to replace AndyKs old 2001 325i which I bought for the princely sum of £950, over the that time it has covered 30k miles and apart from the odd wear and tear items, battery, suspension bushes, brake pipes and service items it has been true to the bangernomics as any car I have owned, it even sold for €2200 a healthy profit on the purchase price.

It's replacement is once again a BMW but this time a 2013 F11 525D Touring, a significant step up in terms of age, mileage and cost but it should provide the additional ability of carrying all the family including the dogs for a few years to come and might eventually persuade me to let the Range Rover go to. Cars here are stupidly expensive and nearly all have stellar mileages but this one, once again a UK import back in 2018, was neither less than 60k on the clock and at a euro price equivalent to the UK prices so just had to be snapped up.

Good motors. I had a 2015 from new for a couple of years. A cancelled order with all the toys and HUD which worked well.

We had a 530 Tourer, fabulous car which we both miss now it's gone. Great load lugger, fab. handling and all the power required. The HUD was really useful, so much so it's now a must have for us both, a bit like heated seats. Great purchase, I have a load divider somewhere which you've reminded me I need to sell!

Very handsome looking thing, congrats. I prefer yours to the newer G30 flavour.

Always been a fan of the 5 Series Touring even the Chris Bangle inspired E61 looks good unlike the saloon version. The F11 was spot on in our price, mileage position and it already being Irish registered was a big plus. It actually was originally a UK car imported here in 2018 hence why it is as loaded with options as it is (here extras are expensive and Irish cars rarely have them). It is in for a service a PDI but we have already agreed they will replace front discs and pads and and we are going half's on a decent set of branded matching tyres.I'm not fitting run flats so will put my Maserati compressor and tyre filling glup just in case (I will pick up a space saver locally just in case, we are off to France in August and I would like the added security).

Hopefully collect next Saturday
