Gear scratch noise at start up

Hello. I had this gear scratch issue since I purchased car which would happen apprx.1 time out of 10. Flywheel changed during clutch service and problem still existed. Starter gears changed and still it exists occasionally. My mechanic said it happens with CC equipped 4200 and GS, nothing else he can do.

When this happens, I move the car back and forth slightly and then it's ok but imagine your doing this when people are starring at your Mesarati just seconds ago with admiration.

Thoughts please.

Flywheel, Hillengineering thrust bearing, 235062 bearing, f1 sensor also changed. Is spigot the 235062?

As a clarification, it sounds like starter gear not biting exactly as it should. Is this happening to some as well?Mechanic replaced the starter gear as well and says nothing more is possible.

So am I the only one having this situation in the 4200-GS/CC world?

Sounds like it

The spigot bearing is not the number you quote. I think the spigot is back of the bell housing, but could be totally wrong

I was checking the US forum and found few people who had the "grinding" sound at start up. Maybe my definition of "scratching" was not correct. Another fellow defined it as "skipping". At the end, it's a horrible metallic sound!

1) First of all it's highly linked to poor voltage or loose connection. So first check is the connections to the battery.
2) Battery condition: I can't trust the readings on the car so would need an external check
3) Wiring/connection to Starter: probably needs to be done at the mechanic garage
4) Solenoid of the Starter: if all above are fine, than this seems to be a cheaper part to replace
5) If all fail, than change of starter motor (pn: 180169)

One fellow has simply recovered from the issue by turning the key to start position and waiting for 2-3 seconds and than press the blue start button. That is also in the to do list but this seems more to be linked with voltage.
