Wait a minute... anyone notice that ... $10 dollars for 2.5 US Gallons... Doing the MathS that £1.19 per litre...crikey not as cheap as US any more. Still 30p cheaper that Unleaded in the UK

Short journeys in any car kills mpg, especially urban environment with stopping and pulling away. A good cruise on the motorway will give a better return.

Without knowing which model and engine size it's difficult to say what you should get.

Round town my Gransport Coupe does c9mpg.
My 4.7 Granturismo does c12mog

However 9n the motorway I get c20 and 28 respectively... but they are highly stressed sports cars not a diesel superfine.
Let's see a picture of your GT Peter.

Guys so I just confirmed. 192 miles when I started the car and I went 3 miles to the grocery store for a total of 6 miles back and forth. I’m at 155 now. There’s no way it should be like this right?

I’ve the same engine, can get to 35mpg on a long steady run, averages 22 summer and 20 in the winter.

the mpg display maxes out at 40mpg.

Your range will fluctuate like what I’m describing?

Every single drive it will show my MPG at 40. It doesn’t show any other number..that can’t be correct.

You are “overthinking it” the computer is assuming the remaining miles will be short journeys as well.

I have never used the trip computer to judge miles as it does not includes a calculate for “smiles per mile” and that’s the most important one

You can configure what it shows, mine is set to range and both average and instant mpg, they fluctuate, only see 40mpg downhill or coasting.

at the end of a journey, it displays the distance and average mpg for the journey itself.

My 3.0 petrol QP generally shows around 26mpg with a mix of spirited and leisurely driving usually within a 40 mile radius of home, and that's as indicated on the dash. On a long dual carriageway or motorway run it's relatively easy to improve on that even with decent cruising speeds.

I've never bothered with full tank to full tank measurement - the computed figures suit my conscience ;)

Yes, if you started it, drove to the store and stopped it. Utterly and completely normal

I logged my fuel use on my Ghibli using a phone app. Looking at it over 50k miles I did anything from 17 to 30 mpg, from fill-to-fill, and averaged around 23.5 mpg over the course of ownership. That was mixed driving, with most of it short 10-15 mile trips.

That was a petrol S, rather than the base petrol, and imperial gallons rather than US.

Must say I am wondering also, why our V6 turbos are that much more thirsty. If you take for example the very comparable Mercedes M276..... Both direct injection V6, with turbo charging.
MB being a lot more efficient!
What could be the culprit?

What's the power of the M276?

I drive the majority of my time in ICE but I will change mode sometimes for bypassing someone for example.
When you say average, are you referring to average MPG? It will always show 40.0 MPG average. That is not right either.
Why would you drive in ICE mode? That's for driving on ice and snow covered roads with poor traction levels?
Unless it now means something completely different.

It produces less power, has a lower rolling resistance and less drag, also according to fully it’s barely any different!
