From Japan to Italy

Hi there, I'm new to the Maserati scene, in the past I've owned Lancia deltas eventually onto Japanese brands. But now I'm back in the Italian game.

I have a question. Quattroporte V 2005. This car doesn't seem to be going into auto mode when button pressed and display shows manual mode. when I drive it, it lacks power. The gear changes occur automatically. For example. Foot down to get revs high but car decides to up changes at 3000 rpm. Is it me or the car?, also sport mode doesn't activate. I get the feeling something needs resetting.

Sounds like your car has gone into limp mode. To stop you doing any damage someone with a bit more intell will be along soon

F1 pump more than likely may need bleeding. Only way to really know is get a code reader on the car and scan for any fault codes.

Thanks for that. The MIL is off. I've got an advanced code reader but not SD2/3 but will give it a try. Where can one get a F1 pump ? And does it need programming after fitting? Sorry for dumb questions Maserati isn't my forte at the moment until I get my head around it. :)

Try a battery reset first (search on here or in owners manual) to see if that helps at all.

You got your account activated in the end, welcome.

Any main dealer should be able to get it or try Maserati UK, just google for the phone number. They are usually pretty helpful.
