Here is mine, just the one:

drifting.jpg

After tailing a tractor on a French B road for 5 miles, with Dan in convoy, upon stopping at a cross roads, with the tractor at the front of the que, decided to nip down the left turn lane and burn past him on the GREEN light....hotly followed by Dan...wheels spins, 'Elevens' left at the junction, stones and dust kicked up, we both headed for the horizon....but were chased down by two 'Le Porc' on motorbikes and given the riot act.

There's not un court in the land would uphold such a shoddy, amateur ticket. Le handwriting, c'est ilegible! Aussi, si vous can't overtake a tractor with some creative manouvring like that then le monde has got itself in a pretty sorry state.

The French all learn the same handwriting at school, you can tell it a mile off; it looks like text book stuff. They all write like that.

Looking at this incredible illegible scrawl either this guy wasn't French or he was so angry he couldn't write.

Well done :)

Could be... I once became frustrated with a dawdler who then continued to dawdled at a traffic light on a right turn, one dark night. As the dawdler dawdled through green, and then amber... I overtook and hammered round them and down the right hand turning while they continued to sod about. Imagine my surprise when a big blue flashing disco started up behind me. There's more to the story but the conclusion was 3 points and thirty quid. And bloody lucky I was, too.

I reckoned I was easily up for a dangerous-driving like-a-tit award. But not speeding - I'd barely got started when the party lights came on. Somehow I sensed the World's Most Reasonable Policeman had some sympathy.

Oh, the impetuosity of youth (it was a good 10 years ago).

Yeah they are pretty lenient in France, I got a similar ticket for in excess of 100 mph, which is a ban in the UK. The interesting thing is that they don't seem to have to prove I was speeding, there was no picture shown to me, if I had a better grasp of law and French I may have challenged it?

Just realised you were referring to Dan and Matt's brush with le forces of darkness, Frank. Yes... all of that plus a mighty hike on your insurance premium.

I was also shown no proof, but they captured my speed 3 separate times and fined me for the middle speed. The fastest they recorded was 190kph which is just under 120mph. I decided not to argue given that I had been doing 145mph at one point!

They certainly are more lenient: € 15 for parking tickets. That's more reasonable than some London car parks.
