This morning i was taking pictures and marking where do the pipes go, preparing to change the starter motor. Then i found a small air pipe of around 6mm diameter not connected to anything at one end. The other end is plugged loosely to a small thingy on the right of the throttle.

Anyone know where does the pipes connected to?

The second picture shows the markings on the pipe.
Thanks guys! And happy new year!small loose pipe.jpg

The first picture with the hose off; that's the boost solenoid valve. The missing connector on the top normally connects to a hose that just tucks under the top cover of the throttle body to the right. It won't mater that it's not connected other than it looks unsightly.

There are four connections on the plenum;

1- injector rail pressure controller
2- injector rail pressure controller
3- boost pressure; connects to the dump valves there are a couple of Tees in the line.
4- brake solenoid valve

This is the diagram for the solenoid valve in question, it has no connection to the plenum it seems, it actually takes it pressure reference for the turbo scroll on the right hand turbo only.

It would be worth checking to make sure it's not off of the plenum?

There was a very interesting thread titled "3200gt turbo boost read this its a must do" which describes corrossion that Lee discovered to the connection at the bottom of the pieberg valve you are describing (piegberg Ref 7.21912.00 12v). When i checked my connector it was fine but if you are doing the work you are describing to the starter it might be worth unbolting the valve and checking connector at same time. IIRC the short pipe off the top of the valve tucks in under the inlet cover plate ie the one with the trident that just vents to atmosphere.

As Almichie suggests I would strongly recomend you label each of the 4 hoses that connect to the back of the inlet manifold as they are all of similar length and it can be a nightmare to trace them back to their source if you forget to label. There is also a hose that connects to underside of plenum that you can only easily undo with someone holding manifold about 6inches above. When reinstalling make sure this hose is really secure as I read on here that this is connected to brake servo. Best of luck
