Floating dirt filter

Anyone else have this problem? Bought a couple of buckets complete with muck filters, but the filters simply float to the top when I fill it with water. Have ended up tying a couple of diving weights to them to keep them in place. Design flaw or what!

Grit guard kind of things? Do you have very dense water there?

I have questioned their design too...if they are below the sponge when you rinse it out then any grit would lay on top of the guards filters. As such is this not how grit would lay at the bottom of the bucket anyway?

as soon as you agitate the water the grit would be swimming around as normal????
