I overuse mine as it's easy to do a lot of short runs and get caught out.

Better than the alternative. Being able to plug the charger into the power outlet / inlet in the boot is so easy. The charger just tends to float round in the boot most of the time and plugging it in is a good excuse to get out of the house have a furtle round the car.

If the battery is totally exhausted by a considerable drain such as lights, it might not fully recover..!! Your only choice is to charge it with a meaty charger, I don't think a trickle charger will do it..!! You will probably need 24 hours to get the battery back in to a reasonable state of charge, but if damaged it may not hold that charge for long, the only way is to try it and you might just be lucky..!!

Worst case, jcf, you can have my battery. I'll even throw in the car. I'll take yours in exchange but will of course need your car to transport it in.

Will the detailer still manage to work his magic?

Good luck!

Pull the two 50 amp fuses out of the fuse box next to the battery. It cuts off the car from the battery and stop it draining it as it's being charged.

The battery on mine died more or less overnight, certainly no more than 24hrs since I had used it.I didn't fancy mucking about with it, so called Maserati Assistance who were great. They trailered it to my nearest dealer who fitted a new battery under warranty, they also loaned me a nice MB E350.
