Flashing dash lights and steering goes stiff

Wife calls me at work. Flashing red lights on the dash, steering went stiff. Pulls over and turns off the engine. Turns back on a few mins later and all fine.

Random or something anyone else has experienced before?

Thanks. I didn’t know an automatic could stall? Apparently the engine was still running. Assuming it is the aux belt, sounds plausible, is that a big job on these cars or relatively straightforward (wishful thinking)!

Happened to mo. Had accessory belt changed and they didn’t tighten the bolt!
