Hi guys,

Clearly modifying these car isn't to everyone's taste here. But I thought I'd share what I have done so far

Please excuse the bad language in the video:

I'm good friends with the owner of pro speed exhausts and we modified this slowly till I was happy.

Wheels are 20" and I'm looking for springs to lower it now

What do u think?

I like the sound. What did you have done exactly?

If the wheels are 22", I would rather have 19" on a 4200 but each to their own.

Centre silencer, cats and back boxes removed leaving one x pipe. Sound is better when using better speakers so phones are not the best.

The car still handles very well and does not rub - just need to find 40mm plus lowering springs

I quite like it , and the wheels, but needs lowered a bit so they sit more evenly in the arches, imho.

Would not do if we were all the same but the wheels do not work for me, either size or colour but if you are happy, that is all that matters really ;)

Im not really a fan of the wheels but tbh most after market wheels are not to my taste.
Nice colour exterior/ interior combination.
What other mods are on the cards?

Wheels look nice. I think being dark coloured helps a lot, if bright silver they would probably look not as nice.
Later 4200's (like yours from 2003) have the same springs as the GranSport, all they did with the GranSport was wind up the spring platforms for a slightly lower stance. The GranSport is I believe 10mm lower than a 2003 onwards 4200.
If you adjust the spring platforms too far though you are putting the standard spring under a tension that it is not designed for, therefore it is beneficial even with spring platforms to fit lowering springs if lowering significantly more than stock. Formula Dynamics sport springs are therefore stiffer and have a shorter overall length before fitment.

Sounds good, Charlie does seem to like these V8's and can really make them sing!

Do you have spacers on the wheels?

Looked again, those tyres are basically rubber bands, the ride must be spine-tinglingly crude. You just about get away with the look having them dark, but wouldn't want to drive it round London.

:omg: - sorry to buck the trend of compliments you've had so far Paul, but I have to ask you why????

You can disagree with me that's fine, but I think you've ruined the looks of a beautiful car that Maserati's design team spent time, effort and fortunes on to make the car look so beautiful. For gods sake put the factory wheels back on, it looks like a bleedin' tractor.....:naker:

I think the important thing here guy is that the guy is part of the brand, we all like and dislike parts. If it was me, I would still lower the car but sell the alloys and stick 19"s on her, probably gun metal w/silver center caps. Takes one to be bold to mod so kudos.
