I decided to take the 4200 CC for a spin this morning, as it has been lying idle for the last month whilst we were away on our summer holiday. After a few miles I noticed a flashing oil warning light on the dash and also the oil pressure guage was at zero with its own red warning light on.

I stopped the car and checked the dipstick, which was showing max. so no catastrophic oil loss. My home was less than a mile away so decided to risk the drive home. Once home I tried isolating the battery for an hour in the hope it might reset itself. No joy.

Any ideas/advice gratefully recieved.

Whereabouts are you located? I have a crows foot spanner that I've made specially to do the job. All you have to remove is the plastic trim that runs across the bulkhead. I did mine in less than half an hour without any drama.

Check the dipstick to check that it has got oil in the oil tank. It is a dry sump engine and has a separate tank for the oil.
