Euro Tunnel

Not good news... So problems to persist for at least another 3 months and traffic chaos getting all those trucks to another holding area that is not on their direct route.

But some opportunities for the airport to bring in pay as you go services such as showers, beds, call girls etc etc and make a killing on bacon rolls.

And if the RAF could base a few C130s there you could insist on all the inbound trucks dropping off their illegal human cargo for a swift return to whece they came

I see from the article they're already moaning about the impact on the local roads.

It's the usual "not in my back yard" syndrome.

A 1000 trucks isn't much either. There were 8000 stuck on the M20 last week!

Well, I am going through the tunnel 10.30am on Saturday, riot shield at the ready.

From what I have heard from a mate who went out and returned a few days ago as there is little impact, the only issue is the diversion of the M20 to the tunnel that takes and additional 40mins, anyone know if you can get round it another way???

If it's on it'll be the A20 and then through Ashford.

Unless you go down the M2 (likely to be as bad if not worse all the way down) there's not much you can do.

Stack isn't on at the moment. Just keep your fingers crossed!

3 Hour delay for cars at the moment due to unplanned tunnel inspections - counting/capturing runner I guess.

Travelled down to Reims a couple of weeks ago and forked out £100 extra for a Flexi Plus ticket (essentially business class). Special check in area and then straight onto the next train stopping only in the First Plus lounge to collect breakfast/lunch/dinner and use the facilities. There were delays of 3 hours when we travelled and we avoided all of that. The £100 was for the return trip. Best money we have ever spent.

Saw not a single migrant on way back and no queues to get into Coquelles terminal. Mind it was the day that 2,000 stormed the terminal later that night so maybe they were resting :)

STACK will have no effect on your journey, Allan.

Just a thought on that - it will probably be a good scheme to have Matt post your tickets to you, since you won't be at the hotel on Friday to collect them.

Came back on Saturday afternoon. New system of being sent to the waiting area before you checked in where they provide toilets, free tea, coffee, water and cakes! Zero delay and caught my booked train without a hitch.
