I have a 2000 3200Gt and I am looking advice on how to purchase an engine diagnostic scanner .
I've taken my car to various good local mechanics but the scanners they have only refer to the 2001 model onwards.
Makes it very costly going to my local Maserati dealership .
Ideally be great to buy one off a member on this or given details on what exactly to look for online .
Would appreciate any reply.

a little digging on here you will find a few threads on this, there do appear to be some ways of getting it to work, i think searching should turn some thing up, there is and adapter for the two pin plug, i think its a bit of a faff but possible. Hopefully some one will be along and get you a link to the right thread!

Think there was a recent thread on this and highlander was in a similar situation. Contigo had input on it as well.

Just make sure you buy the correct ODB adaptor as one will work, the other will not...

I use the Unidiag on an old xp laptop, you can pick these up for about £25 on fleabay, I couldn't get the software to connect using a later version of Windows.

I used my brothers old xp first and purchase. one once it was all working. The battery cable is easy to extend I used an old extension cable.

Now keep the laptop in the car all the time in case I need to do a reset anytime.

I purchased my cable direct from Sander on the KWP forum slightly more expensive but I knew it would definitely work.
