Electrical Gremlins

Hello all.

Hoping you might be able to help here. My GT has had a couple of electrical gremlins these past couple of days - firstly the alarm unavailable warning came up, in itself not too much of an issue. I did the lock door/unlock boot button reset and that didn't solve it, however I opened and closed the petrol cap and that worked fine, probably a coincidence.
Tonight I unlocked the car and neither the driver vanity light nor reading light came on, the footwell lights were fine, as were the rear passenger lights. When I get out of the car, but before locking it, all lights go out except the front footwell lights, when I lock the car the footwell lights go out but then the drivers reading light comes on and stays on.

It had a new battery fitted at Sports Italia about 6 weeks ago, it hasn't; been used much since but has had a C-tek charger on it.

Any clues??

Thanks,

Do the complete reset routine. Disconnect battery & leave overnight then reconnect with the isolation switch.

As my QP is getting old enough to be a "classic" does it behave more like my 3200? Seems to needs a battery reset for a few things, do cars get dementia?

Werlllll. Things like capacitors and so on in the ECUs can start to break down, drift out of value so it's not *entirely* impossible.

What about being haunted? My car was certainly doing a good impression a few years back, with every dashboard warning either lit or flashing. All while driving normally on my commute home from Harlington train station. Have a clip of it somewhere. Luck I had ten years of 3200 experience in the bank , so was entirely unfazed. Imagine a new to the brand driver, likely they would have traded in for the first German premium brand.
As with all "reported errors" I take the advice from Airline Pilots "Just fly the plane". In car that means do handling check and pull over if necessary.
