EFB battery charging

friend got a new ford with this stop/start stuff which uses a EFB battery.

I suggested he gets the CTEK MX5 charger for his previous car. He was going to use it on the ford but some research shows CTEK have a different charge for the EFB batteries and the MX5 doesn't support these batteries.

I would have thought these are like normal batteries other then the ability to start the car more - The ford tech said not to charge the battery with it connected.

any of you guys use CTECK MX5 on your car with stop/start (with EFB battery), if so take it all OK ?

I would check out Optimate battery chargers, they're likely to have a solution.

I've got an Optimate, many consider them superior to CTEK

I have an Optimate for my Trofeo as their lithium chargers are recommended by Super B who make the battery, and so far so good. Excellent build quality and service too
