Anyone had issues with this? Motor just keeps going (causing it to jump teeth on the cog!!!) when the window has fully closed.

Mine's been sort of doing it for two years. It does stop on the button on the way down, but when you pull up on the button, it continues it's journey down. then only comes up in 3 or 4 inch bursts. Tried new motor, new mech., sprayed lithium everywhere, nada. Suspect door sill rubber now, because when I bent it back this weekend 'just to see if it was that', I got 3 or so clean operations....

Looking at the workshop manual it would seem SW3 (Driver's side power window position sensor) is not working correctly. I guess I'll have some fun trying to remove the door card and make sure its still connected OK (not corroded etc)

Come to think of it, the window on the driver's side doesn't drop when I pull on the door handle either!

Hi ajb I had a window assembly problem of a slightly different nature. I went down the Alfa replacement route. £100 for the part and £80 for the labour. I feel a much cheaper alternative to buying a used Maserati one. My Bodyshop guy said it was pretty straightforward to modify and just needed the lateral guide channel swapping over. I have a number for an Alfa parts guy who has plenty of these in stock if anybody needs it.

I need to determine what exactly is going on with it really. Hopefully is just some kind of contacts issue.

It ll be the micro switch that is nt working . If it contunues to force the window in the up position the the teeth will strip on the motor and it ll be £600 + for a new mechanism . Strip the door ,take out the whole mechanism and inspect it.
