How late was the 3200GT which has this feature?I could never understand why on late 3200GT's you could put the car into sport mode but leave the already hard damper skyhook settings in normal
Apparently some Ferrari 360's which have the same suspension system as later 3200's are able to do this..
Dave

Was it just auto cars?
My 2001 3200Gt AC manual has sport button that does throttle map + skyhook damper setting (sometimes).
Thanks for reminding me mate, I did indeed miss out the "not"..I think Dave might have missed a “not” out of the first sentence, my 2001 was like yours.

In the 1960's at school that was a caning offence!
Dave
I'm sure there's plenty of those on here keeping it a secret! No caning in my day. We did have a French teacher who could bounce one of the big wooden board rubbers off the desk in front of you and into your face. When he retired we found out he was originally a monk but got thrown out for drinking and womanising
....Ditch it. Sink £5K into V3s and a cancel plug from FD ( Skyhook error delete) & geo set-up instead. Transforms the car.

Speaking of dampers, I was looking at my rear springs and dampers during a tyre change, and I found these Eibach springs. Its that a Maserati standard spring or a budget replacement?

I happened to find this note in the Maserati "Quick Guide to correctly set up Proxi files", which suggests there is a simple setting needed, and no 'cancel plug'?
021 – Remove Skyhook ECU for M139-M145 (opposing to function #023)
Applied vehicles: Quattroporte and GranTurismo all models.
Specific Proxi configuration to cancel the set up of the Skyhook suspension. This Proxi configuration is required in case the Skyhook suspension system is removed and standard shock absorbers are installed on a vehicle.
Eiabac certainly are not budget.Speaking of dampers, I was looking at my rear springs and dampers during a tyre change, and I found these Eibach springs. Its that a Maserati standard spring or a budget replacement?

I was just having a rest after completing cleaning my holiday cottage (changeover day) and saw the “skyhook” thread again. When I last saw it, I assumed that it was the name for a non-existent tool, the sort of thing apprentices are sent off to find, as a joke. I now realise that it isn’t a joke.
Or is it?
?

It is both.
Skyhook theory is that the ideal suspension would let the vehicle maintain a stable posture as if suspended by an imaginary hook in the sky, unaffected by road conditions
As well as a non-existent tool.
