Has anyone got any recent experience on how open to negotiation Alfa dealers are at present?

If so, what do you reckon I can get this for??...http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/2981787.htm

I've got £1,500 discount in my mind on top of them doing the 2% APR deal they're doing on new Giulietta PCPs at the minute! I wonder if I'd be laughed out of the dealer on that note?

You won't be laughed out at 1500 discount. I'd go for more. Unless you stand up and go to walk out of the showroom you aren't trying hard enough!
I am not up on Giulietta pricing, so can't say if the one you linked to is fairly priced or not (though I am looking at buying one maybe next year), but Alfa dealers, like any other, are very much open to negotiation.
I bought a MiTo last year and got a fairly hefty discount without a lot of effort. Some people go into a dealership and are happy with 500 pound off and a set of floor mats. The dealers have a lot more to play with than that...

Nice car Andrew, you persuaded your missus to chop in the Mini?? 1500 sounds pretty fair, go in with your size 10's on and see what they say.

top spec and colour! probably about £32 brand new. I wouls go for at least £2k discount and take it from there. There was one in Leicester i went to on for the same price but with only 2,000 miles but half the options. So price seems a little high

Not persuaded her yet Adam but this is a great spec and she loves the colour (always a good start). In fact, the spec is so good I dontbreckon you could do much better except have it with tan leather!

I so want to like the Giulietta but it has one achilles heel which is very badly designed pedals...there's no footrest and they work at odd angles. It's almost a deal breaker on one but I like the rest of the car so much!

If I can get this car for the same monthly as her JCW I might just be able to tempt her...looking at Alfas PCP offers atvthe moment that means at least £1,500 off and them honouring the same subsidised rate that they offer on a new one.
