Copart Quattroporte. Doesn't look too bad. Cat D no airbags.

If repaired properly, I reckon thats around £20K-£25K repair costs including new OEM parts. Assuming the car sells at around £12K, you would be better off spending a bit more on a second hand one. Only makes sense if you can do some of the work at cost and source good quality second hand parts.

Bl**dy gorgeous QP GTS though!

Thats a GT S isn't it..You would struggle to pick one up used for under 40k to be honest......

Yes but when you factor in re-sale value, this doesn't make much sense unless you are going to keep it for a long time or are able to get the work done at cost with a fair number of good quality used parts.

if you can get it done for 20K...Thats 50% plus less then retail.....If you put it up for 25k would that not appeal to someone....

I wonder what trade bid is on a three year old 4.7 QP with miles and in perfect condition? £40k is my guess. Needs to be worked back from that.

Oh I don't know. I think if you budget £10k for parts, £3k for paint and £3k for labour, it could be done. A quick glance on Ebay finds a front bumber for £900, £500 for a bonnet. It would be a mission to keep costs down but I think it could be done. Ideally, a breakers with a similar car that's been rear ended would be great.

I owned a BMW z3mc which was Cat D and the majority of repair parts (bonnet, wing, headlight, inner wing etc) came from a boring z3 convertible in the same colour at a breakers. Total repair costs were around £6k on a car valued at the time at £25K pre-accident.

For someone that likes a challenge and has the time!

I do know a member on here is looking at this car at the mo. If your thinking of bidding can you PM me....saves our members getting into a bidding war over it and inflating the price.

Not wishing to cast dispersions on a Z3 all the same..........might be same physical process but......worlds apart in automotive terms

Yes but I was just saying that with the right effort, there will be many suitable parts out there for grabbing at far less than new prices. Re-building the z3mc was easy in comparison but the price of parts was still comparable with the bonnet around £4k alone from BMW. Thankfully the front end is the same as all other z3s. The rear would have been a different story.

It does need saving.
