Condensation

For £20, I assume so, for a moment I had in my mind a rechargeable battery pack motor/compressor unit, then for £20, and two, thought no!

Yeah I went to check. I've never had any success with non-powered de-humidifiers either in a home or in cars over the years.

The pollen filter was changed about 1k miles ago during a major service. Yesterday I thoroughly dried all the windows and checked all carpets including the boot for damp, nothing found. This morning there was hardly any condensation. I wiped the windows again and have put a large silica gel bag on the dashboard. I can't help feeling part of the problem is the car is not used daily and sometimes only once in a week at this time of year. I will give it a few days and see if the silica gel has helped. I will post again when I have any results.

My three cars all have to sit on the drive and I get fed up with condensation so I bought this for my 1947 Chevy Hot Rod as that gets the worst of the condensation.

And then bought this smaller one to rotate around the 911 and the QP, I'm just going to fit some outside waterproof sockets to keep everything tidy including the trickle chargers.

I'll let you know how they get on.

Now they do look interesting, thanks

Have the same problem but no leaks and no water in the boot (drilled a strategic hole..!). I also noticed the seat belt has got worst at retracting... I think it's just a characteristic of the car! If you want to feel condensation run your hand inside the rest wing above the battery.... Just bought those bags from Amazon... I am putting one in the boot and one in the cabin

Update. It's been a week or so with the dehumidifier bag and the situation has definitely improved. The only time I've had any condensation of note is after the car has been running and locked up again. I'm now more certain that it is down to lack of use at this time of year that is the culprit. I will post again if the situation gets worse again.
Thanks again for everyone's input.

I get this in my Fiat 500 too. I find switching the heater settings to recirc when I park up stops the damp cold air getting into the car overnight, seems to work...just a thought

Where did you get the bag from? I'm willing to give it another shot :)

Ta. They look rather bigger than anything I've tried before, so fingers crossed

Hi CatmanV2. I actually have 2. I went and bought a large one from my local motor factors outlet but it cannot go in the microwave to dry, a conventional oven is best and it takes quite a long time. I then bought a Pingi from Amazon which is smaller and only takes 5 mins in the microwave so I can use this one while the big one is cooking!
