Miles, hope you don't mind me asking,
but does the 64,000 mean that you need to change it now...or did they give any indication at which point it has to be done, ie can it get to 100,000,
I guess it is still quite a subjective number, right?

To be honest I don't know Enzo. At 64,000 whatever they are, combined with what I know to be near as d@mn it a 100 percent worn clutch (mine is confused as Graypaul didn't reset the 'datum' when they fitted the clutch in my car just before I bought it and so the SD2 is only showing 20 percent worn, but it's done more than 40K miles!) then yes it's time to change if you go by the numbers, but the clutch is fine through the gears (as was happily evidenced today at Llandow when it didn't miss a beat, in fact driving it hard seemed to improve it no end), but in general driving I just need to be gentle when pulling away in first. I've been nursing it until after Llandow, so I'll change now, but to be honest I could nurse it for a little longer I think. Anyway I'll try and find out and let you know.

PIS is Point of Initial Slip, basically the distance in mm the bearing has to push the clutch fingers to start the disengagement of the clutch, but I am just guessing.

It probably just the distance the bearing moves in mm till it does the same. I know the lower the number, the quicker the clutch, so that would figure.

Funny isn't it I always thought that PIS point was the point at which you could stand the dealer taking the **** when presenting you with a bill for a service

Funny sometimes I get what seems to be slipping in first when pulling off, not all the time, just now and again, but in rocket ship mode and pushing hard, no problems at all..??

I have more problems working out how to pull away in a hurry. I either seem to leave much tyre behind, much to the annoyance of the ASR, or I'm not moving that fast.

Any suggestions, apart from wait until Spring?

Ahh, yes. I have started using Sport by default.

I shall try without. A bit counter intuitive, but thanks.
