If I do not use my QP for a few days when I start car, the time of day clock goes mad and spins round really fast. Going round 12 hours and sometimes 24 hours. It stops but sometimes goes fast again after a few minutes.
Is this normal and is there a way of stopping it.

You could try deactivating the GPS time base (if it is set) and setting the time manually:
- Press the SETUP button
- select TIME/DATE
- select TIME
- set the hour
- set the minutes
Keep the battery on a trickle charger when not in use, I had this happen to my clock when I first got the car 4 years ago,
but since it has been kept on a trickle charger it has not happened.

I would echo ENZOs suggestion, I have only experienced that hand rotation during set-up mode. But the GPS searching sernario sounds plausible.

Funnily enough mine has started doing this recently and it has a new battery and is kept on a trickle charger.

I had it on GPS time but put it back on manual time and it still does it.

I think it is the car saying "you left me for so long, I'm really annoyed".
