Well how is this for a public confirmation of my affliction for BL metal.

Chuffed that my '76 Jaguar XJ-S V12 manual made font of front cover of Classic Car magazine this month! Made all the effort to get it to the photo shoot at the end of last year worthwhile.

Nice.

What's it like to own? I've read the article....

I'm most tempted by an XJC V12 Manual, but those are also scarce!

Such mixed feelings about the XJS.

I have to say, that Lucas fuel injection does looks scary!!!!!

I love the XJS, despite all the warnings about quality it is high on my wishlist and the earlier the better IMO

Classic lines, I would love one, reliability and rot issues aside (sigh, I bought a 3200) The later models get my vote especially the convertibles, you don't see many around

1970's car are really coming into vogue now, mainly because of rarity and the step-change in design from 50/60's designs. Remember that the XJS followed the E-type and its reception was quite mixed.

It's a lovely car. I had the V12 auto for a while and it was a total b4stard. Electrics were a disaster and then it rusted to h3ll. But it was still fantastic.

There's a V12 round here somewhere, I'd guess it's garaged over winter (good job) as I haven't seen it for a while.
A lovely car to waft along in.

I see there's a Ferrari 400 lurking further back in the photo. How does that fare in this test (or as an owner, daren't I ask!)?

I remember working on those cars in the early 80's when they were new at Henley's in Coventry, we were always down at Browns Lane with various Jags

I remember they gave me a manual XJS with a few experimental suspension mods to try out over one bank holiday weekend.

That thing was blo*dy quick...miles faster than a Ferrari 400 auto I'd driven a few weeks before..

Unfortunately due to the extraordinary heavy Borg and Beck clutch they fitted on the manual's you were knackered after an half an hour!

Great to see a Mariner Blue MX-5 on the cover after buying one last week. Maybe I should keep it?

Driven both and the MX5 is the better car as it revs so much better being NA. The 124 has a massive lag and just feels detached somehow. Anyway this is all irrelevant as the one I bought is 25 yrs old Dave :D

An old banger then Phil ;) but seriously, there amazingly good. Same old thing, you don't need 400hp to have fun!

Are you starting up a hairdressing business?

Is it "stanced" and slammed and runs a lot of neg camber...
