I just hold a grudge as he slated my beloved GS and can't change gear with the flappy paddle on the 4200 ok he didn't really slate the GS just the gearbox cos he can't use it

At the end of the day if you love your car that is all that matters. The CC is a marmite gearbox so you just have to accept that. Remember how Maserati had to bring out the auto QP as the DS box was just not selling.

The Ghibli review in the ST read better than 3/5 stars indicates. He said the ride and handling was woolly but a joy on crappy roads. Given the country we live in I see that as quite an advantage! He also said the heater was weak. Quite likely if you find the right setting it would be fine. I'm sure half the time these guys have so little time to test a car they don't get chance to really get to know it. Takes a while to really get a feel for a car, even as an owner.

Yes, but the main reason is I suspect its gotten 3/5 is that its not a tear up the tarmac type Maserati......it occupies a very subtle niche in the world of super car medium sized saloons.....so basically JC can swivel on it!

Cannot see why the stars given is an issue as anyone really interested will read the article in any case. Let's face it, we are biased as the rationale choice in that space is a top end five series.
