After having spent a fortune trying to diagnose my warning lights and potentially having to fork out £4k for a new loom plus fitting (with no guarantee it would fix the issue) Voicey very kindly pointed in the direction of these chaps. http://christianlewis.com/
Ed Blasi is the main Ferrari/Maserati man there and just talking to him over the phone convinced me to drive 160 miles to get them to look at the car. What he doesn't know about CAN's and BUS's and electrical stuff like that isn't worth knowing. Although their website doesn't specifically say "Maserati" Ed knows as much about Masers as he does Ferraris, being Ferrari/Maserati trained.
After some initial SD3 diagnosis and removing some "non correct" wiring (which wasn't helping the situation) they diagnosed the ABS ECU as being at fault. They sent it off to their specialist ECU rebuilder, having had a long chat with them about their ability to fix the issue. Lo and behold, it came back fixed, for a small fraction of the cost of a new one.
To say it was a relief is an understatement. The car had been off the road for months with others trying to fix the problem.
As for the cost, it was half that which I had spent previously to come up with no result and actually a nice surprise ! Lesson learned and I'm therefore very happy to recommend them to everyone. If you're having any sort of niggle they can probably fix it.
The workshop is like a surgery and the chaps there are very enthusiastic about what they do. They're happy to show customers what they're doing on their cars and understand that we're all car enthusiasts together.
Credit where it's due !
