My sister and I went on holiday in the back of a VW van, it was like magic, my dad would pick us up with the mattress and lay us in the back of the van at 3am , when we woke up we were in Cornwall , well apart from the time I woke up in mid air as he took evasive action on the M5

So 8 months on with my daughter. I have a maxi cosi pebble seat as well with base in my Granturismo. It fits well.

Obviously the passenger seat cannot be moved all the way back otherwise it will hit the baby seat, but it moves far enough back that it should fit a normal sized front passenger.

When you take it out you have to let the seat go all the way forwards and push it a tiny bit and then squeeze the baby cradle through the gap at a slight angle rubbing the door seal and seat a little.

It fits but only just through the gap.

A party from that it is fine. Been on road trips to France (Reims), and through Yorkshire with no problems.

However my baby is small and light. If your baby is big and heavy and it is your wife using it as your daily then I am pretty sure her back would start hurting quite quickly and you will get told to buy another car.

This is what happened to me.

We don't have kids, but don't get this at all. After 7 years of ****, **** and puke, really are you going to want the seat? Surely you'd just want to *burn* it?

Exactly what I was thinking.... I really can't imagine any baby / kids seat should will ever last that long, even though it's perhaps engineered to do so.

The majority of it is plastic. The other soft parts you can remove to wash or replace. So it could last forever I guess.

I had real trouble with my wife - she wouldn't accept forward facing at all... and that essentially ruled out all the cars I wanted that I could see.
Mine is now 2 and has been forward facing for around 3 months (since I bought the GTS) - I just did it without discussion. Makes a massive difference and the GT has really come into its own.

I agree with you re: the type of seat - I went for the Maxi Cosi with base - now with the Pearl.

Wait until he/she says 'daddy' - you will give them anything they want!

Never mind the car seat. I'm sure they're all fine. The best advice I can offer is: sleep now. Any opportunity, have a snooze. Enjoy the blissful feeling of waking up to silence, and the knowledge that you can go back to sleep. Because soon you can't, ever again.

PS Actually you can (maybe) in about 28 years.

Today the baby trolley arrived! My bother's son is now old enough to only occasionally use the 3-wheel jogger, so he doesn't need to old pram any more and sent it to us. It's a very classy Joolz Day and we immediately tested if it would fit in the boot of the 3200.

Just folded there's no way it would even come close to fitting, but then we took the wheels off and it was a piece of cake. So that's that problem solved, now all I need to sort out is the seat!

Got the baby seat... a Cybex Cloud Q in a beautiful burnt orange colour. Yes, it doesn't quite blend in with the dark blue leather, but then again, why hiding it? I made a cushion out of firm foam that sits nicely underneath and the baby seat sits safe behind the passenger seat rear-facing as it should be. Enough space on the passenger seat still left and I already practiced the taking out and putting it back in. Actually, I'm quite confident that I will be able to get the seat in and out without waking the baby (or dropping it half way), which means the 3200 is way more family friendly than anticipated.
Now all I need is the baby. Estimated delivery is on the 31st... :)

Just one more thing to consider... should I get me a proper seat protector or will a towel do?
