This looks good value even with what needs doing....All cosmetic..

NOw have they done that to the leather on the centre console back and front....Not sure what that would cost to put right but the scuff wouldn't be much and the wheels refurb about £400...

Miles under 50K and 27k.....Could be a good buy as cannot see it costing more than 2k to put right if that maybe ?

If only it was leather trim Andy.
Good old pvc I'm afraid.
We get issues with heat and sunlight here.
Stripping the lot out and get a coach trimmer to do in Connelly leather is the way.

Re-trim in Alcantara would be nice, though I'm not how the colour would match. Easier if it was black.

In any case, looks like a pretty good deal.

Or maybe have those areas of trim flocked.
We replace with new as most I've seen are done under warranty Andy.

The car does look cheap if it was a private sale I could understand but the car is from a dealer they must have access to all the right trades at the right price then it would retail at £30k+ very strange

I can only think this damage is caused by kids or dogs running a mock inside the car, and as pointed out why sell a car from trade with a potential profit lost??? If its only 2k to put right and worth £32+ why loose out?

My thoughts is that its a px and the brakes and other consumables need doing as a good service, paint prep, tyres and all this with the reported damage far exceeds the sale value of £32. Finally trade price if this went to auction would be about £23/25

I guess there may be extenuating circumstances, but it looks very messy inside as well. Couldn't even be bothered to hoover it?

If an owner is so neglectful of the interior and doesn't care about scuffed wheels what else have they neglected?

IMHO a 'full Maserati history' counts for little when a car is abused like that.

Fishermans friends or dog treats on the centre console? Very unloved looking. I don't think dogs would do the damage, possibly children, but more likely its been used as a van for transporting bulky stuff. Whatever it's still very tatty.

This.

It actually pains me to see a car that beautiful and exclusive mistreated in that way.

I wouldn't want a bar of it.

Especially as being an owner of one, I know how well they can be looked after and at minimal cost.

Agree. Years ago i looked at a manky 4200, and the dealer finally said "what would you offer" and I said not at any price. Dear knows what else is wrong.

Unfortunately if not cared for, they can go manky, quickly.
Saw a few 4200's at dealers that where very disappointing, worn, weathered, and nearly put me off buying one for good.

Surely with a thorough Maserati Inspection and all the usual checks, a prospective buyer could have peace of mind?

I'm guessing £1,200 max could put this right?

Its not the putting right of the bits declared its thise that are not...if it was a quick £1500 repair the dealer would do it...not shift it on at £5k below book.

Fair point but raises the question of what validity do inspections have as without the cosmetic damage seen here, this car would look as good as any other priced 32k. I do think though, there is risk in buying any used car but when issues are highlighted its only because they can't be hidden in most cases.

Unfortunately Maserati have always been a bit fragile and even though it has improved massively they still are not where they need to be with interior bits and bobs and as said above it not looked after they do tend to wear quicker than others........

It appeals to the less than mechanical minded person who forgoes the inspection thinking a bit of PVC repairs and a touch up by chips away and I have a GT!!!! Yeh.

Then a few weeks later they need brakes and a service and fall over with shock that these will set them back 10% of the car and other issues come up costing considerably more...it happens very frequently with desirable cars...in fact I spent two days assisting a lady with her GT bought the same way and being robbed blind by the main dealer.

Also, the unseen things. A caring owner will warm things up before revving etc, suspicion here is the owner was not of that disposition.
