Agreed, although for a museum it does has the most useful/tastiest gift shop in the world. Parmagiano and Balsamic, so much better than an oversize pencil and a gonk...
No longer. The heartbroken Sr Panini was explaining that they had to sell the farm. They’re moving to a new facility 4km away because he couldn’t cope with being there and the farm not being in the family. Too many memories. Shop only sells books now.

Update from Modena with the factory carrying out repairs.

The costs in total (compressor, all belts, gas removing and refilling, temperature switch, wire loom repair and labour) are € 868,-.

A steal. Was not turbo. Was seized AC bearings causing drag on drive belt.

I am amazed, it makes you wonder if we shall start taking our cars over there for repairs. I am curious if the compressor is an item available to the trade as a part or only at the Classiche. Compressors usually are out of stock in many models.

Sounds like an idea to drive down for a service never mind certification!

The factory are definitely showing good interest in supporting our older cars, but I think we need to ask the right questions to the right people.

For example, I took a spare ECU which had a fault with me to Modena to see if it could be repaired. There is no output to the fuel pump from it currently. The very helpful Classiche manager has contacted the electronics expert that worked on these at the factory and he is collecting it this afternoon to see if it can be repaired. It's not a certainty but is an excellent sign.

It is also interesting to note that mine is the first 2.8 Biturbo spyder they have certified but they have done one 2.0, a Biturbo 222E, one 2.24, three Shamal and one Ghibli Cup. It sounds as though the more they get through the workshop the more resources they will have to throw at improving the support network.

Mine has passed the certification process and is just awaiting the new AC compresor so that it can be fitted.
