Hi Everyone,

I'd like to change the center console gas spring in my 3200GT. Do I need to take the entire console off to get to it, or can this be done by leaving most of the console in situ?

Cheers,

N

part 11 is called a gas spring... :) according to eurospares... :) I would call this gas spring a strut, but english is not my language so might be confused... In a very weird way, it is quite pleasing to see that there is a question that can puzzle the esteemed and knowledgeable audience of this forum :)

Be careful, I bought one from Eurospares and it came from the factory without gas. They are new old stock.
I think by now all gas struts in our cars and in the factory warehouse have lost their gas.

Your best bet is to try to get from stabylus directly.
Can you paste here the numbering on the body of the strut?

The puzzling part is because you mentioned center console instead of arm rest :)

But coming back to changing the part, do I need to take the rear ashtray out, in order to be able get the immer part of the "armrest" out?
