Centennial Stradale Purchase

I've been looking at a centennial Stradale.

Not sure how long the 2 red cars at £90k have been up for sale but is that the kind of price people have been paying ?

The Amari car is 8 months younger with half the miles and the Carbon bonnet that I do prefer, so that's got my eye at present

Anyone know of other cars available (other than the £127k car)

Have the earlier 2 seater cars gone up in value in recent times, I guess long term they may prove the better buy.

Any advise greatly appreciated

None have gone up in recent times - all are depreciating (though only slowly). There is a school of thought that the early 2 seaters will be the most desirable in the long term, and it's a view I subscribe to. But it won't happen any time soon.

The colour-way on the Cent edition is a personal choice. Some like them, others don't. Personally I don't see them as worth any more than a "normal" Strad. But maybe they will be in 25 years time when they are deemed classics.

If you find a Cent you like, with low miles, at £90k or so, grab it. They aren't making any more. But equally, if you see a "normal" Strad in a different colour that you happen to prefer, get that one instead.

My advice therefore would be to get whichever Strad you are most attracted to, irrespective of whether it's got 2 seats or 4, or is a Cent version or not.

What Ewan said.....I don't believe the Centennial will be is worth more than a 'normal' Stradale as it was purely cosmetic to shift a few cars .... Sort of a run out model that just so happened to be around the Centennial year. Centennial or normal is a great car. I see HR Owen in London have a red centennial and for me I would prefer to buy from them than Amari. No carbon bonnet though but that is a very acquired taste the carbon bonneted ones seem to hang around on the forecourt a little longer than those without.

It feels like the 2 seater has done most of its depreciation as they did dip to early 60k's but seem to not be around 70k. 4 seater still has some way to go though and I would imagine the 2 seater will start to meet them as they come down. Dick Lovett has two 2 sweaters for sale at 73k and 75k and a few dealers are selling 4 sweaters at 79k so not much in it .

I've recently bought a 2 seat stradale, and I am in the group that thinks the 2 seat will be the one that is more desirable in the long run than the 4 seat version. The 2 seat just seems more special, and if you can get one with the roll cage and harness seat belts then this will be the most desirable in years to come. Only my opinion of course!
Anyway you should buy a stradale as they are amazing, I'm in love with mine!
Cheers tom.

Also agreed, the Cents have some nice touches and personalisation but I also feel it will not really be worth any more than the standard. They don't seem to sell any quicker than the regular ones although there was a Granito Cent which sold very fast last summer when I started looking. The red ones seem to hang around for a while.

Good luck though, they are absolutely fantastic cars

I also agree with most of what has already been said, I do not think the Cent is worth paying much of a premium over a normal Stradale.

I think there is a good argument that in the longterm the two-seater version will be worth more, but for me the 4 seater version was a better ownership option. I came out of a 991 GT3 ClubSport which makes perfect sense as a stripped out car with roll cage and bucket seats, but the Stradale is such a big car by comparison......

I'm pretty sure that if you buy a 2 seater for 70k ish and save 20k in your pocket, that when you come to sell it you will loose very little. And the 2 seater is definitely as much if not more fun than the 4. You could even buy a manual boxster with the difference as a grocery getter!

You can still buy the cage and belts as a kit from Maserati. Get it while you still can, even if you never fit it. You can then sell it with the car in due course if needs be. But at least your two seater would be the hardcore real deal with all the sporty bells and whistles.

That makes sense Ewan.....when you do start to become collect able I'm sure the full on caged ones will be the ones all are looking for and not too many around. Only thing is how much are Maserati asking for then....Bet as with all parts it's stupid money.

That's exactly my train of though too.

It's ridiculous to take the rear seats out, fit a roll cage and harnesses but that's what makes it special.

That's my plan for this year on car related expenditure!! Looks like it will be about 5k all in and is easy to install.

Sounds like a plan, would like to do same, buying the pieces at least. Not sure that carrying 25Kg (a guess) of extra steel in the car will make sense though. Maybe just store it to add value to car as suggested earlier. We'll need the fire extinguisher too. I am wondering if there are any lugs or sockets welded to the chassis that receive the tubes, that we may not have in ours?

As far as I am aware, it's a bolt in case and fairly simple. If I do buy it, I will install it. Given the weight of the car already, I don't think 25kg will matter too much. I could alway lose a few pounds and drive naked to make up the disadvantage....

stupendous thread swerve! I would be happy to research and buy together the "kit", maybe some others too. I remember when I quoted the stradale seats for a forum member the delivery time was "10 months or more"... I imagine that when these special parts are ordered, Maserati sends them to be made at their providers. We may even get a decent price, and better lead time, for say 3 kits?

How many active forum members have 2 seater strads?

It looks like the same one that was for sale at an indie until recently, Knaresborough maybe?
