Well Ladies and Gents,
Thank you for your support and we have 18 exhibitors as sadly MrMickS cannot join us this year.
1. Delays on M4
You are probably aware that the motorway around the Slough/Reading area is subject to restrictions and probably has a 50 mph speed limit and does have average speed cameras.
In the other direction the M48 bridge may not be open but the Prince Charles Bridge should be OK.
Please check on this online,
2. Parking area
There are no major amendments to the plan so herewith directions to guide newcomers to our allocated parking area which remains the same as the last few years.
Most of you will be approaching the circuit via the M4.
Turn off @ Junction18 and follow the signs to Castle Combe follow the road through and turn left onto the B4039.
A short distance beyond a garage on the right is the paddock entrance which will be manned by ‘Combe circuit staff a few yards in.
Show them your entrance pass keep it on the windscreen and drive straight forward along the paddock road. There may be a Stroke Association representative to direct you.
The road will bear right then straighten and ahead and to the left you will see the Strawford Centre building and our parking area is just before that on the left.
I should be there to help you to park as the organizers are trying to allocate extra space for us and things are a bit fluid at the mo'.
Don’t forget that there are 2 spaces reserved near the Strawford Centre for the Aston and Honda.
3. Arrival
Please make every effort to be in your place by 8.45.
4a. Payment
Donations have come out at £6 minimum for car and occupants due to the gazebos.
There is a Stroke Association booth near the Strawford Centre which will accept the money and there will also be a steward who will be checking at some time that we are settled in OK and who can accept payment. Please surrender your screen gate pass to the staff on payment and if you want to increase your contribution I am sure they will appreciate the gesture.
4b, Stroke is not just for the ‘oldies’ It can happen suddenly and at any time and many youngsters have been victims. That is why I always carry one of their F.A.S.T plastic cards in my wallet ‘just in case’
5. Departure
Close of activities is 4pm. If you can remain to the end please do - if not go slowly because kids can out accelerate most cars up to 10 mph and are less aware than you.
6. Weather
Sadly, not a good forecast but reality may be different? however, be prepared.
e.g. Bring the right car Kazzer!
I’m sure the company of our fellow enthusiasts will make up for the climate - we have a good crowd coming so many thanks Guys and Dolls, lets have fun! First event is possibly a brake squeal competition!
