Has anyone replaced the silver interior parts on a GranTurismo with Carbon Fibre?
I swapped out the parts on my 360 and it really updated the interior. The GT still has a nice modern cabin but I do like a bit of CF.
Can anyone recommend a supplier?

fcz360 on here had his wrapped in CF-style vinyl and it looks really good. I can't for the life of me remember where he had it done but someone will probably be along soon with a more thorough response.

I know that Phil Kyle at PK Supercars has had some carbon inserts and shift paddles made for the 4200 and GS. Perhaps send him an email and ask who made them and if they can do the same for a Granturismo.

Be prepared for these to be a fair amount of cash!

If its a similar price to the Ferrari I will get it done, it is significantly more I suppose I will just get one with the CF trim next time.

From memory, the door strips in a GS (2 doors and 2 matching to the side of the rear seats) where about £800 or so. Perfect quality. Paddles are about £600 and very similar to the stuff made by Formula Dynamics.

Not crazy money but still a few quid.

Nothing compared to Maserati and Ferrari's own price lists.

Check out Robson Design. I'm ordering a few parts from them.
They do a lot of Maserati GT parts.
Quality I can't say as I havent received mine but other owners seem to be happy.

As a not unrelated thing, the vinyl on my dash peeled quite badly last summer in the heat, so I've recently had it retrimmed - along with the full centre console - in red leather to match the interior. It gives the interior a much higher quality feel in my opinion.

DB Carbon in germany Ive used them for my 911
Daniel the boss will happily discount the parts from his site prices if you remove your parts and send to him in germany to be Carboned and returned
It works out dramtically cheaper and the quality is 100% identical to the factory parts.

That's really interesting. I've been putting this off but I've managed to snag a 2mm tear in the corner of the centre console between the rear seats of my car, is it an easy job to have this sort of thing fixed?

I have a friend / contact that gets interia parts covered in real carbon fibre , this is not a plastic wrap but uses real carbon weave sheet layered over the original part than several layers of lacquer is aplied .

The only problem is he has to send them to china to his surplyer and this can take a few weeks to turn around .

Thanks for that but was hoping to get something in the UK. R Tuned in Hong Kong are good, I'd send them there if I was sending parts away.

What about one of those companies that dip the components. Like those that W/Dealers used on that hideous RX7 recently. Wicked coatings was the company name.

I got the impression that it involved taking quite a lot of the interior apart to get to more or less anything, or certainly as you move away from the dash. But I guess it depends on which part. One area mine came with as a small tear was the small rectangular-ish bit in the rear that sits just above the rear air vents in the centre. At some point one of the vinyl corners had been caught. This, I understand, requires the seats out, to take the centre console out, to get to the two screws holding it in place! Needless to say, this got done whilst the rest was being done...

One thing of note was that when putting it all back together again they had to 'shave' the leather in one or two tight fitting spots to get it all to fit. They did use a decent quality leather, but it shows how precise cars are in their fitment.

FWIW I had my side skirts and rear defuser wrapped on my GT-S and while it is obviously not carbon, it does look good. I should imagine it could look even better if it was lacquered

That rear centre console is very vulnerable. Thin vinyl and in danger of damage if anyone ever has the bright idea of climbing from one seat to the next. Mine had a couple of small tears when I got the car but they were repaired pre-delivery. I know of someone who had their GTS re-trimmed with alcantara across the front and rear arm rests and dash. Looks fantastic, apparently (as it did when I saw a Strad similarly trimmed). No idea on price but I can try and find out if anyone's interested.

Overall the vinyl is quite vulnerable. Mine peeled back from below the rear OS window but I fixed it easily enough with some glue.

Just a quick post Lee (ultra busy atm!),

Although I can't recommend a supplier (as mine was factory fit from new), I can say that it has made a huge difference to the inside of the cabin on 'MC2' (made this year), compared with my first GranCabrio MC (bought and collected last year):-

'MC2' (which also has 'Eco Chrome' interior trim):-

My first GranCabrio MC (which also has 'Dark Chrome' interior trim):-

Maserati GranCabrio MC 01i-004 (20130704_114623).jpg

N.B. it's not a clerical error, 'Yes', the 'Dark Chrome' trim is actually a silver, satin finish , whilst the metallic dark grey finish is actually the 'Eco Chrome' trim.
