Brake swap - DONE

Well, that wasn't quite as tough as I thought it might be.

Swapped all four dics for the new forum discs - Thanks again Benny, replaced all brake pads for EBC Red Stuff and also replaced the hand brake shoes. Was quite astounded at the state of the original discs n pads, even the handbrake shoes had broken up. How people can drive these things with the brakes in such a parlous condition is beyond me, At least I know now everything is spot on.

Obeservations:

Rear calipers are tucked in so tight you can't get a socket onto the bolts so had to use a spanner. Luckily I could just get the ring end on for finally tightening.
Red stuff pads required a bit of filing to get them to slide smoothly into the caliper.
Hand brake shoes look a sod to change but are actually very easy when you get your head round things - thanks Conaero
Cold Bridgestones on a slippery lane can catch out the unwary when giving it some beans - Oops!

Next on the agenda is to get the car down to Shiltech for a good service then wheels off for a refurb and perhaps calipers too.

Thanks again everyone who helped with this little operation, if anybody is contemplating doing the same, feel free to ask if you have any questions, although it seems that between them the guys on here have pretty much covered everything.

Well done Yeti, very satisfying to accomplish something like this for sure.

As you say, on to the next task.

Can't wait to move house and do mine, I've been testing my brakes over the summer at a set of traffic lights and post Bruntingthorpe they've definitely got worse...new pads went in last year at Emblem. Not sure what they used. I changed the shoes earlier in the year by relining the old ones.
And you definitely need a cranked ring spanner to get off the bolts fir the calipers. Well worth the investment.
