Brake judder

My brake judder was being caused by material build up. Bought a rehoner drill attachment which cured it for a while but it started to come back. Front discs had plenty of life in them from a thickness perspective. Ended up using it as an excuse to upgrade to bigger discs and callipers.

New Brembo pads fitted today. Seems to have improved things.

Interestingly from memory these were new in July (can't recall mileage but will look up later) Done about 50% of the pads. Discs show very little sign of wear.

You've been busy today with the throttle body as well :)
No electrical work to do ;)

So just pulled the receipt from my file.

New discs and pads late July 2023. So 50% wear in <6k miles

That seems excessive….!

I must be doing something right :)

So to be totally fair the bad depth is originally 18mm. Very rough measurement to 9mm but I should probably check more carefully. No sign of binding or stickiness in the calipers. Very little wear on the discs. I have to wonder if they're just really soft and it's a heavy old car
