Does anyone know the precise location of the microphone? According to the manual it's on the dash near the instrument cluster.
I've been doing quite a few long motorway journeys recently with another 3 hours sat on the M6 this morning. This is the time I want to listen to music but get frustrated that the 'premuim' Bose system sounds so awful. What has confused me is that when stationary with the engine off it doesn't sound too bad but when moving it sounds 'thin' and tinny. Looking in the manual it says that it uses a microphone and "audiopilot" technology to enhance the sound in relation to the cabin noise.
Search the internet and it seems that Mazda RX8 owners also have the privilege of using this system and they also complain about how awful it is. However, some have disconnected the microphone, thus disabling audiopilot, and the results are a vast improvement - but still not brilliant!
So, where is the microphone in the Granturismo? I had a quick look for it this morning and can't see anything. I'll first try and stick some blu-tack over it and if that doesn't work I'll try and disconnect it.
