In the AGM minutes, what's the event listed as "Bleinham"? Is that supposed to read Blenheim, and what is it – nothing in the new Events pop-up side bar, can't see anything in the Events section and a search doesn't reveal it?

Hi Norman,

I attended a Summer Classic & Sports Car day there last summer,I have offered up the suggestion of a summer meet their due to the central location & fabulous backdrop.
A blast around the Cotswolds followed by a group meet & exhibit ?
I will fo a bit of research re dates etc.

Those who want to register their interest pls feel free to comment.
Cheers

Ah, thanks for the clarification. Had missed that (or maybe forgotten!). Definitely up for this, depending on dates. It is local to me, and also I know the Cotswolds well so happy to chip in with any help on planning. May be worth thinking of missing the crowds and the other driving events season and doing it either fairly soon or at the very end of the summer? I think the Blenheim Estate tends to fill up with events well ahead.

The Blenheim Classic show is August Bank Holiday 24/25th. Show is Organised via Andrew Greenwood.

If enough want to come along I'll enquire about a Group Maserati attendance.

The Blenheim Classic show is a static display, as a an exhibitor you need to commit to be there all day; also when I went last year focus was definitely on pre-80s cars, very few Italian classics etc. Motoring is limited to a 5mph circle of a small field (sorry "Classic Arena"), once, when your slot comes up, if you are selected. Nice enough for an hour or so, but not the same sort of day you originally suggested, with the blast round the Cotswolds etc which would be more suited to Maseratis...your first suggestion would be best for me.

Yes,

Agree Norman, I was thinking breakfast meet, couple of hours drive out, followed by Maderati convoy into Blenheim, park up in the Classic Area for around 1pm

Cheers

Yes that would work well for logistics Dave.

Falkland Arms at Great Tew would be a possible place to start - very pretty village, big car park, cracking pub does good cooked breakfast from 8, we could book tables - just a suggestion. Nice round trip on scenic fast roads from there e.g. A361 to Chipping Norton, A44 via Moreton to Broadway, back via Toddington B4077 to Stow A424 to Burford and A40 and cut across to Woodstock (with a stop for a cuppa at a nice place probably 2 hours) - as you can tell I have done it (several times!). Just depends where we want to start from, which will depend where people are coming from.

Yes that would work, maybe you could organise a Cotswold Run independently earlier in the year also, end up at Gaydon Museum or something??

OK, Cotswold Run will be pencilled in for sometime later in the year subject to whatever else is going on.

I have a fab route map that was used for the Stratford Motoring Festival. It follows the route taken by old Brit manufacturers for their test runs in the 30's - includes lots of hills and beautiful villages through the Cotswolds. Would be a great route for Maseratis.

I'll scan and post if anyone interested?

I'd be up for a run through the Costwolds this weekend if I get the old banger back from Shiltech early enough...

This sounds perfect to me but with my wife's Birthday the following day and a holiday to plan it's just too much to cram in. I'd like to see the route though...just in case :blushed:
