@conaero , (part supply allowing) I plan to get my QP's front bushes done with you guys in early 2022... my ones are worn, and my front P Zero (!) tyres are MOT worthy but wearing thin. Seems like an opportune time to take advantage of a pair of PS4S fronts at a decent price and get them fitted before they're discontinued.

My only concern is wearing out the new tyres when my bushes aren't perfect.. and no point getting an alignment done either until the bushes are done, surely. That said, I'd be amazed if I covered 500 miles between now and Jan 2022. Am I overthinking this?

500 miles is around only 2 trips to the petrol station (the long way), if you start putting your mind to it!

Very true sir, but 500 miles with this level of camber could be a different tyre wear equation! Don't think my QP has got to this stage yet...

You could buy the tyres and just store them until you get the bushes done and keep wearing out the Pirelli’s. If you can find any for sale of course.

Indeed, although the price to get them delivered is the same as getting them fitted! 245/35/20 are the fronts, and they seem to be available to order.

EDIT: I was wrong, it's about £6 cheaper delivered vs. fitted.

On blackcircles the only fronts showing are ‘MO’ Mercedes or K1 Ferrari fitments.

Sorry, I know stupid questions get stupid answers... do the below photos suggest my tyres date back to 2012? I've got at least 5-6mm tread on both fronts (and they seem evenly worn), nowhere near as low as I thought - but if they are 9 years old then surely they're overdue a change?

Could well be that old. I had to replace mine on my 2014 GC as the rubber was cracking on the shoulders - there was still plenty of tread left however I didn't fancy meeting my maker due to a blow out.

Date will be in its own panel so it can be changed in the mould. (Week/year)

Every day is a school day!

A bit annoyed because when I had my 4x QP alloys refurbed in Aug last year, I got them to change the P Zeros rears at the same time for a pair of Michelins ... and looking at the tyres now they were manufactured in the middle of 2019.

My fronts say '1017' assuming they're using the calendar year convention that puts them at 4.5 years old, so even with plenty of tread on account of they're age is the consensus here that they should be changed? A bit of cracking on the the shoulder and outer edges too...

I presume the K1 indicates a Ferrari tyre?
They are holding up a Ferrari engine to be fair though.

Well spotted. Didn't see that.

I've stopped deliberating... ordered a set of generic PS4S fronts, to be fitted in a few weeks. Thanks for all the advice and the discount code!

After ordering tyres from black circles for my M3 (generic MPS4S) which you cannot get in BMW specific compound for E93, they contacted me to say the tyre fitters refused the booking as they are not BMW spec tyres!

Charlatans. Can you rebook with a different fitter?

Would love to but currently the black circles customer service line is 100% closed so you cannot leave a message. The only way to contact them is via email. So they have my money, and I have no tyres and no way to talk to anyone. Advise that you guys tread carefully!

So they respond and I’ve had to cancel the order and now waiting for the refund to come through.
