Anyone have experience of this, just bought it as it seems to be reasonable and good reviews.

There are 3 products with this and to save time I would like opinions as to whether polishing is required before these?

Never heard of it but TW products are usually very good, off to do some research now.

It seems ok but you can't really tell from the videos. What I suspect it does is fill in some of the chips rather than give a high lustre.

I'll stick to Touch up then coloursanding, clay bar, 3M Ultrafina yellow and blue via a machine polisher, Autoglym Super resin polish, Autoglym HD sealer then Demon Shine.

You get back what you put in.

This is true, I want to step it up a notch with a machine polisher but being a black car, I am scared of ruining her.

A machine polisher should really be a last resort in every case unless following a respray etc.

You are correct to be cautious. I made a mess of my black GS at Le Mans last year. I bought a cheap machine polisher off ebay for £70 which was basically a variable speed angle grinder with sponge heads.

I spent a whole day and G10 and G3 products and got the shine but terrible holograming I could not get rid of.

I spoke to a detailer and he told me to buy 3M heads and 3M Ultrafina yellow then blue and use with separate 3M heads.

It really worked. I am now confident to wet sand with 3000 grit then buff up again but it does take balls to do that and you have to be careful.

Just watched the Audi video. The inspection walk round you can see the holograming which means this guy has done the same thing so that paint has been machine polished. He then shows it off in the evening sun which is always the best light to hide the imperfections. I am sure in the same bright light the swirls and holograms will still be there.

Black box is basically, as said, black coloured filler.
It will look very good, but will eventually wash off, back to square one.
Its nothing new, I recall Turtle Wax marketing coloured waxes before, infact I have a bottle of green in the garage from years ago.
So great if you are selling a car, or keep up to it with the same kit, otherwise proper 'paint retrification' is the only answer.

To avoid swirling I am washing / rinsing twice, using 2 bucket method and applying polish/wax in forward/backward motions rather than circular.

Whilst this is not the best option, I feel as long as most contamination is off the car, swirling should be minimal and worst case scenario ill have to fork £300+ for professional job.

My only fear is that the black obviously wont be colored coded to the Nero on the QP, but I guess this wont be noticeable to the eye? Its a quick fix I am after for now but plan on buying pro gear next month.

We distribute both turtle wax and 3m... You can buy black box for less than 2 3m polish heads but folks come back to buy black box regularly...... Conceptchemicals us very good and reasonable price... They also do a hologram remover and really good value carnuba wax....

Where can I get this stuff mate? I am fed up being stuck with Halfords, but really should start buying online.

Indeed the 3m stuff is pricey but the blue Ultrafina is probably one of the best polishes for fine detail I have used.

Like any process take your time and work down the grades. Yellow then Blue Ultrafina is far enough for the home detailer on legacy paint

I steer away from their products as they contain abrasive elements as do most lower end products to ease polishing.
