I guess a wrap would be the best option as it keeps some semblance of originality. And it protects the paint, unless it rips it off.
That's what I did with mine.
Avery Dennisson Intense blue is quite similar to blu francia.
My car needed a respray, it was stored under a outdoor carcoon, but with the time and the wind, the paint was damaged. I always fancied "blu francia" but wasn't sure it was really for me.
Before biting the bullet and doing a complete colour change, I told myself, "why not a covering?".
So I purchase the vinyl and did it myself (I know, it was a stupid idea). It's not as hard as you can imagine, but it takes a lot of time.
The result is quite nice, at least as long as you stand a few feet away.

But it only teach me one thing, I want it painted in blu francia, I'm sure of it now. The vinyl is not as shiny as the paint, but it looks quite nice.
